I’m sure most of you have heard about Essie before. The most popular nail polish brand in the US but still no that known in Europe. OMG the best colors ever! Two coats and they last for ever… You need at least one week before the pilling off grunge style! Essie Weingarten is the head of the brand and comes up with brain new colors every 90 days… Her team always makes a selecting of very elegante and trendy colors.

H&M The Festival collection

H&M has raised founds against Aids, by designing a collection specially for summer festivals, all the right outfits to sparkle in the latest music festivals. 25% of the sales price goes to HIV/AIDS prevention projects for youth all over the world carried out by DAA, YouthAIDS, UNFPA and MTV Staying Alive Foundation. Last year the project has managed to collect over 2.2 Million Dollars!! Not only that they had designed a very cool rock and bohemian line, but they added all the necessary goods like sleeping bags, chairs, handphones and others… to have the most fun while getting crazy in the crowed!!

This project has a special place in my heart, knowing that 88% of the people carrying HIV are in Africa, and specially in South Africa 12% of the South Africa population!! They need help!

But i want to do a special SHOOT OUT to some of the guy community in Paris!! I have been told by the laboritor of the Marrais in Paris that the Aids is getting banalized in the men guy community, since the french government is taking fulling charges of the treatment. Please think of all those poor kids that are born with the virus in Africa, and have no access at all to any medication so please STOP for them.

Protect the other!! USE A CONDOM!!!

Yves Klein’s blue

So many types of blues, but at the moment we got a big come back of the Yves klein blue. An unique color that this french artist, from the 60′s, has the property and all the rights. But this colors reminds as well the color of the Parisien sky during spring, when the night sets later….

It’s a very elegant blue that suits a modern night ware, almost like the new black. At the same time a brilliant color for the summer, will suit even better the dark hair color in my opinion.

How to pick your Parfum?

A fragnace is like an identity, you need to find the one that suits you the most. There is so many brands, different smells and designs of bottle… how not to pick the wrong one!? On my way to Sephora i had an idea of the latest smells i wanted to try, but smelling so many at the same time and spraying any place you find on your arm, totally confuses me! And on top of it the smell never stays the same once it’s on the skin… I usually trust 100% the opinion of my sister that has a particular developed nose. So here was the selection out of all those attractive campaigns.

The campaign is such an inspiration, and the bottle such an attraction but the main thing is the smell! So after spending an hour thinking if i should go back my oldest smell that my sisi loves Narsico Rodrigaz, but that you can often smell on other girls. Or the one i just had until now, Jeanne from Lanvin, with the new option with the Bulgarian Rose… but my eye got caught with 2 latest ones from Balenciaga and Givenchy…

So my last choice went to Givenchy, very flowery but has much more to it once on the skin, very sexy and delicate. I hope my sister will agree with me…

A material Girl

We all have material goals, things that we hope we’ll own one day! Most of those things are affordable but the money for it goes often in other priorities. So i try to fix myself goals by age, like a Louis Vuitton before 25 years old, diamonds studs before 30 etc… etc…

A Bulgari ring, to represent for roots, Bulgaria. A Chanel bag, and the Hermes Kelly the 2 most classic french bags. The Rolex, bi-color, that you can wear with your golden jewelery and silver, but still not being too BLING BLING! Then the diamond studs classic item, that usually has been giving from your family heritage. And my own little treat, gold and diamond bracelet from Tiffany’s, so cute and delicate. And the final touch the rose tattoo that i want, to once again represent my roots, the Bulgarian roses.

Hopefully i will be giving all that one day, yes i’m a Material Girl!! My birthday is soon guys, 19th of may!! Hihhihhi…

Bunnies from LaDuree with the new Chanel bag! They are called the hugging Bunnies, you almost can’t picture yourself eating them, but i bet you they are delicious!

…LaDuree is an amazing bakery in Paris, right on the Champs-Elysee. They are famous for their Macarons, the most delicious little bites of colors and fruits flavors. It’s like 2 little meringues with a paste in the middle… let me show you!

LaDuree is an institution in Paris, since 1862. Mainly famous now for their Macarons, their flavors go from Rose to Chocolate, to mint, to lemon, salted caramel… and on and on! Every year new flavors will come out. And every year Fashion Designers will bring out a new edition of the box, like Sonia Rykel, Christian Lamboutin, Christian Lacroix and Chantal Thomass.

My favorite flavor is Fleur d’Oranger, flower of orange tree, very Marrocan Flavor. For this season they had created Cherry and Apple, can’t wait to taste them.

And for your information Laduree is now in London, Dublin, Tokyo and Charles-de-gaulle, airport in Paris, terminal F, great location to buy your gifts!!

Winter collection 10-11

South Africa is stepping slowly in Autumn, and in the mean time Paris had just finished the Pret-a-porter shows for Winter 2010-11.

So let’s have a good look and study the trends a year in advance!

I choose Isabelle Marant because i thought it was a perfect collection for stepping gently into Autumn. Please don’t burn the steps and get over dressed, i know you are impatient to wear those boots and those coats. But take it slow, it is getting colder but the sun is still out, and winters are always long enough to get bored of wearing BLACK. So don’t get over-board with too DARK colors, Isabelle Marant uses Semi-colors, lots’of Greys and Browns. You will have the rest of winter to wear Black!

The Jeans are rolled up to the ankles, with ballerines (no socks) that reminds us a little bit of the 60′s. And wearing long Jackets on top of a thin material T-shirt gives us still the chance to take off the jacket and get a flavor again of the late summer. The designer is playing with the Different Materials, mat colors with shinny Jeans or even Leather, thick materials with fins.

Fabulous collections!! Amazing materials, that will sing with the wind. Great combination of Wools, Silks and Cashmeres. Lovely print that would reminds us of the Indian summers and that you can mix up as much as you want and the way you fanny. The collection is very Chic, trendy and relax at the same time, it fits perfectly Cape town locations!! But the signature of the look is mad by the hat and the boots, not always easy to wear together. The trick is to pick the right items that would suit each other, good leathers and wools, comfortable, elegant and hippie, at the same time!

Love love love this collections.

♥EARTH HOUR♥

Saturday 27th April, 8.30 to 9.30pm

The EARTH HOUR is a yearly global event to safe an hour electricity. The World Wide Found for Nature is asking every house holds and businesses to turn off all the electricity to raise awareness towards the NEED to take Action on Climat Change.

Guys it’s a special moment to help out our planet! It’s only one hour and it makes a difference. It’s a good occasion to get some friends together for a nice candle light dinner, you just need to make sure every thing is ready for 8.30. No music or TV for that hour, but lot’s of fun if you are a bush of people! And think about those Countries that are still in Winter and won’t be able to use their heaters!

At the same occasion i want TO SHOUT OUT to Cape town City electricity department, that have a very ugly habit of leaving their street lights on during the DAY! Every day I am noticing streets, high ways or even in all district with their street lights on during the day. It’s a big Shame considering Cape town one of the Country part of the EARTH HOUR. I wish we could do some thing about it!!!
